If you did not have the chance to study for a degree when you were young, you will probably live to regret it. My wife missed out on getting her bachelor’s when she was 18, and throughout her working life she has found people put her down because of this. Her lucky break came when she got the opportunity to take a Master’s at the age of 40, through an online university. Suddenly her job prospects improved hugely and she was able to hold her own with other graduates in the job market. Now she is going on to take an online MBA and the sense of achievement this brings is amazing. The institution where she gained her qualification is Western Governors University, a not for profity organisation that brings second chances to learners of all ages.
