Floored
In our previous home we were lucky enough to have stripped wood floors throughout, which was a real bonus. Easycare surfaces like oak flooring can cope with everything the average family is likely to throw at it. Muddy shoes, spilt drinks, even animal accidents, they all clear away easily. Our new house is only about ten years old but fortunately we inherited soid oak flooring in the hall, landing and the living room. I much prefer this to carpet in high traffic areas. A quick wash with mop and bucket, plus an pccasional application of polish is all that is required. It is important not to skimp by buying cheap laminate, or you will regret it when the joints start to warp after a short time. Well made engineered oak flooring will last a lifetime, and it gives the chance to buy really lovely rugs that you can place strategically for added comfort and colour.
